George Kaatz

Denver Hardware has been family owned and operated since the business's incorporation in 1946. Before opening Denver hardware the family sold mining supplies and was also in the bicycle business. The Kaatz family also owned Denver Key and Lock, a locksmith business which has been in business since 1932.

Denver Hardware has grown and prospered over the years. It had humble beginnings as a small store on Larimer St.. Now, it occupies a city block in downtown Denver and has been in the same location since 1953.

Josh, Bud, and Dan Kaatz

The businesses driving force, Bud Kaatz, passed away in July, 2005. The business was passed down to his son, Dan Kaatz. With this the business has been family owned and operated in Denver for four generations. Dan's sons Josh and Teddy currently work part-time at the business making them the fifth generation of Kaatz's to be involved with Denver Hardware.
